Has the Internet Killed the making of Great Musical Bands?

Last night on the Grammy Awards the only bands that came out were the Police and Red Hot Chili Peppers which made a remark during thier acceptance speech *We need more bands*
The 60′s 70′s 80′s gave us the Best Bands ever such as:

The Rolling Stones

Doobie Brother’s
Steely Dan
Pink Floyd
Santana
U-2
Speed up to today’s music and we have no more great bands in the making, where are they?
